Prior to founding Air Travel Managemnt he served as American Airlines Senior Vice President for Mexico,
He is actively involved in the South Florida community and currently serves as Co-Chairman of the United Way of Miami-Dade Annual Campaign where he is a long-time board member. Throughout the years he has been recognized by numerous civic and travel organizations for his commitment to the community and development of tourism in Miami, the Caribbean and Latin America. The Greater Miami Chamber recognized his exemplary leadership with the "Sand in My Shoes" award in 2012. He has also been recognized by Beacon Council, the Caribbean Tourism Organization, the Government of Belo Horizonte and the Greater Miami Aviation Association among others.
Under Dolara's leadership, American's Miami hub became the largest international gateway in American's network, with more than 9,000 employees and daily nostop service to virtually every major business and vacation market throughout Latin America, Mexico and the Caribbean.
Dolara was responsible for all aspects of American's operations in the Caribbean and Latin America, including airport operations, sales activities, customer service, cargo sales and services and scheduling activities.
Dolara was New York Reservations Manager for Trans Caribbean Airways when the company was acquired by American in 1971. Joining American in that transaction, Dolara has held numerous sales positions and was Sales Manager for American's Eastern Division, based in New York City, when he was promoted to Vice President-Atlantic/Caribbean and New York City Sales in 1984. He was promoted to Senior Vice President in October 1989 and moved to Greater Miami in 1992.
A native of Uruguay, Dolara was educated there and received a diploma in social work from the government of Uruguay.
He lives in Coral Gables, Florida.
